WORTH IT or THROW IT: REVLON COLORSTAY FULL COVER FOUNDATION review

The Revlon ColorStay foundation is a matte foundation that apparently it is a new product from the brand. I was gifted by Revlon Singapore as part of their PR list. Revlon has been part of my makeup life ever since I reached my 15 years old. I love how good the quality of the brand. I use their foundation and I know about setting powder when the beauty advisor introduces it to me since then I get to know more about makeup and fall in love with the beauty industry.

In Singapore, this brand is regarded as drug store makeup while back in Indonesia, the brand is placed among another high-end brand in the department store, even up till now. I will still regard it as drug store makeup because it is a drug store makeup. If you may have no ideas about Revlon — they selling in different quality within countries in South East Asia.

When I purchased Revlon Indonesia products, the quality is much lower compared to Revlon Singapore. I haven’t got to try in Thailand but I do swatches the sample in Malaysia and I feel it is slightly similar to Singapore. I guess Revlon try to balance the pricing with the ingredients mix. E.g: Singapore have strong purchasing power, they will use the best quality while Indonesia has less purchasing power so they use less percentage for the ingredients and also the way they pressed makeup palette, so they can sell it cheaper and within the level of pocket-friendly.

I think it is understandable. Even for US Revlon or L’Oreal products, there is a lot of products that are not available in Singapore and Indonesia, even for the quality, it is really a huge difference. Brands always do market research before they shipped and sell the product in that country. If you are a brand, you won’t be selling a product that is less acceptable in that country, right?!

The product is made for oily skin, for all matte foundation it is for oily skin. But.. somehow this foundation is so good in my dry, dehydrate, sensitive and mature skin with adult acne. Revlon sends me 5 different shade, on the website, there are 16 shades and I use the shade of 210. My skin tone is fair and pinkish.

HOW TO APPLY:

1. After moisturizing (key before any full-cover foundation), wait for 5–10 minutes
2. Squeeze two pea-size dabs into your palm
3. Using our Buffing Foundation Brush, with a few dots of makeup on the tip, start at the centre of your face and blend outward (you want the least amount at the edges of your face); build where needed

The foundation is suitable for my dry skin, even thou the finishing is matte. This foundation has provide with semi matte finishing that will not be oily or shine during the long hour of application. This is the bestt matte foundation for dry skin people who looking for non shiny or non oily finishing while also provide smooth finishing for your makeup look.
