FIRST IMPRESION (K-Beauty): boH Botanical Heal Vitamin All-in-one Essence — F e l i c c i n e
Hello dear beauty junkies, finally we are back to discuss even more products for Korean beauty, especially the skincare. I think I am going to run more review for the newest brands in town since Guardian store is so kind as to share with me the product.
If you are in Singapore or plan to move to Singapore, one of their beauty store or so-called drug store typically in other part of countries is Guardian Beauty. They have different product for Korean brands, and for your basic knowledge, Singapore is one among many countries that always do export and import for many types of beauty products.
They also have an agent called EZ Buy, you can download it on Appstore or Playstore. This agent help you to buy stuff from overseas. It is so convenient. Most of the time, all I do is online shopping because the internet is such a powerful tool for anything. Well… After all, Singapore is a digital country.
One of the products is boH botanical Heal. The one thing that gets me attracted is the brands use yellow and white colors. Some of their product still untouched are using carrot as their main ingredients.
“What? Carrot for essence? What type of mystery is this?”
This probably what comes in your mind. And me too!

There is always pro and cons when it comes to trying new products and in this case, my advice is to find one that suitable for your need. Skincare is there to help you fight against the radical polluted environment and all the external factors that could cause bad skin. We use that to treat and prolong our skin life. Without skincare, even good skin will turn into old before the age arrives
Yet, some skin treatment such as laser is to combat skin problem. This is the list of the treatment experience that I’ve known for:
SKINCARE
To treat and nurture skin. Daily use. Prevention
E.g: SPF/Sunscreen cream is used to protect the skin from UV.
The night cream is used to give deep moisturiser during night time and help skin regeneration. The more layer of moisture, the better during night time because the layer will act as a skin barrier against external factors.
How to read ingredients in skin care product?
The first ingredients will be in the higher percentage, while the last will be in a lower percentage. There is no explanation about how much ingredients be used in formulating the products. It is common knowledge that the beauty industry never mentioned or educated the buyer about their product.
CLINICAL PROVEN TREATMENT/DERMATOLOGIST TESTED
If you ever heard brand such as La Roche Posay, Avene, Cetaphil or which has been labelled as dermatologist-tested or clinical proven, some of them may ‘mere claim’ while other well-known products using ingredients that work to combat the problem of your skin.
For example, La Roche Posay and Cerave have been well known to treat eczema. They also claimed it by providing the proof on their product. Cerave provide proof that their product is approved by National Eczema Association
DERMATOLOGIST WITH SKIN CLINIC
They are graduated with a certificate and have invented products and a range of medical treatment. They can cure your skin problem or cause more problem for your skin.
For example, A blogger doing facial treatment in the clinic and skin react in negative ways.
It is because the treatment in these clinics has used very strong ingredients percentage that causes the skin to react differently.
It is similar to skincare, while most of the skincare ingredients are similar to each other but the skin will react differently. e.g: day cream will use Hyaluronate, Xantham gum, or different type of alcohol but never did we know about the percentage used in the products since the beauty company did not provide so.
Therefore, we try different product but only 1 type of brands that suit us. This because of the way they’re formulated, product packaging is different.
BoH Botanical All in one essence is a good product. I believe that Korean beauty industry has always been so good at formulating the product that suits our skin especially if we are living in South East Asia country. Yet, I am quite disappointed when I found out that the essence dry quickly in my skin and after I checked the ingredient, it uses 2 types of alcohol: Behenyl Alcohol, and Cetearyl Alcohol, with the use of Fragrance (spot it on the bottom part of ingredients list above)
A little bit disappointed but I use one whole bottle till it finished since I try to make a full complete review BUT I will not repurchase the product. Since it doesn’t add an additional layer of moisturiser in my skin. The essence dries quickly and it only gives my skin 10% of moist and it doesn’t feel like I use essence at all.
The essence looks rich and thick in moisture but when I use it, it feels like water splashing into my skin. Lack of moisture is not an essence that my dry skin look especially during my office time when my skin exposure to direct sunlight and air-conditioner, it makes even drier and I have to add more sheet mask into my daily skincare routine.
The fun things about boH botanical heal vitamins are the product packaging that uses yellow and white color. They have a particular product that uses a carrot as the ingredients and marketing strategy as I mentioned above.
I try to combine this essence with my favorite HadaLabo white essence and premium essence. These 3 products can be combined together to form skin layers but if it is were to be used alone, boH Botanical all in one essence can’t even form moisture layers.
Therefore, my conclusion is this product can be used if you have combination, oily and normal skin. It doesn’t clog my pores and make any skin problem at all. the bottle is using pump applicator and lightweight aluminium that could sustain the ingredients benefit for long term. The whole bottle sustains for 2 months (day and night). You can try to use this product if you have normal, combination or oily skin, but every skin will react differently. Skin essence should not be clogging pores or causing any skin redness because it is part of light moisture apply before day cream. People with dry skin should use more than 1 essence, and build layers of moisturizer every day to prevent skin aging. For dry skin, I may not recommend this to be used since it doesn’t add any moisture to my skin.
